1881 3 George Washington. Blue-green. This stamp is used. The stamp pictured is the stamp you get. I'm not a real collector so I don't know much more than what I have been able to look up about the stamps I am selling. Issue date: August 7, 1881 City: Washington DC In 1881, the American Bank Note Company decided that some of the plates that they were using had become too worn and did not show enough clarity and detail. Plates for the 1, 3, 6 and 10 were reengraved. Various lines were deepened and certain features were sharpened.
